Should you get Dental Implants?

You may want or even need dental implants if you’re missing one or more teeth. The implant works to replace a tooth that has been removed or has fallen out. Likewise, you may want to have implants placed if you wear a denture. The implants work to keep the denture plate in place throughout the day, preventing it from slipping or falling out.

What makes you a viable candidate for Dental Implants?

Dental implant surgery requires implantation of the implant.  The process relies on osseointegration for the implant to be successful. This simply means that you need to have adequate bone mass in the area for the implant to fuse with the bone of the jaw. A bone graft may be needed if you do not have enough bone in the area for this to occur naturally.  Once healed a dental crown is placed on top of the implant.

What can be expected during the Dental Implant procedure?

The first step is we take do a consultation to discuss medical history and assess overall health.  Next a 3d image of the area is taken to ensure adequate bone is present. To place the implant, a small incision is placed into the gums and various sizes of rotary instruments are utilized to create space and the implant is then inserted.  The bone and implant will integrate in approximately 3 months.  Once the implant has completely healed, a dental crown is fabricated that is specially made to connect to the new implant.  We do offer bone grafting and PRF treatment to enhance healing and bone quality if required.
